The biggest reason for air conditioner leakage is refrigerant gas leakage. When the copper pipes or coils of the AC get old or get damaged due to some reason, the gas starts leaking slowly. Apart from this, improper installation of the AC, loose joints or use of low-quality material can also cause leakage. Due to refrigerant gas leakage, the AC does not cool properly and extra pressure is exerted on the machine, which harms its efficiency.

The second major reason is blockage of the drain pipe or choke of the condensation line, due to which water starts leaking. When the humidity inside the AC does not come out properly, the water accumulates in the drain tray and starts leaking. This problem often occurs when the AC is not cleaned and serviced regularly. Therefore, to avoid problems like leakage, timely service and inspection of the AC is very important.
